Safety First: SCB Continues Operations Safely During Coronavirus Crisis through Telework

Updated: May 29, 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of daily life and remains a serious health threat. SCB has altered its routine to provide for the safety and continued health of our staff and our stakeholders.

We take our mission of advancing standards for regenerative medicine seriously. With new uncertainties brought on by coronavirus, it is important to combine our support for advanced therapies with the need to bolster public health. In pursuit of our mission, our updated approach includes:

  • Continued operations: SCB’s team will continue to operate on its regular schedule.

  • Remote work: SCB offices are located on the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, MD. On Friday, March 20th, NIST shuttered its doors, directing employees to work completely remotely. SCB is complying with that guidance for remote work. We are making every effort to continue to schedule and participate in meetings via teleconference, Skype, and other electronic means to minimize disruption of our activities.

  • Travel: All mission-critical travel has been suspended and replaced by electronic meetings where possible.

  • Other precautions: SCB employees have been instructed to follow guidelines for self-quarantine and other important hygiene practices outlined by the most recent CDC Guidelines.

In these uncertain times, it is important to stay focused and flexible. The need for standards to help accelerate regenerative medicine therapy innovation is still urgent, and the community can help continue this important work by:
